Welcome to the CUSD 201 Curriculum Website where you will find information related to current curriculum initiatives.
During the 2012-13 school year, a curriculum committee was formed as a collaborative effort between the WTA and the CUSD 201 Administrative Team to address our district curriculum needs and to ensure a quality transition to the Common Core State Standards. The District's Curriculum Advisory Council worked throughout the 2013-2014 school year to establish of curriculum maps for all content areas. That process was the first step to implement the Common Core Standards.
- Common Core Standards central to the unit of study
- Learner statements which are written student friendly language
- Important academic vocabulary
- Assessments - How will we know when the student knows the skill?
- Resources - What will we use to teach the skill?
The purpose of the curriculum map is to document every aspect of teaching and learning in a way to communicate, plan, and refine classroom instruction.
During the 2014-2015 school year with the help of an expert consultant, Claran Einfeldt teachers met in grade level teams to develop or refine curriculum maps for Mathematics. A great deal of effort was spent on realigning topics to match the Common Core State Standards. In addition, we received intensive professional development on instructional practices, assessment writing, and evaluating materials. You can review information about the Math program on this website
