SSL Security Alert

Updated: Monday, January 15, 2010

If you are trying to access CUSD 201 email (over the web) or Skyward Educator/Family/Employee access (over the web), you may have received a security alert stating that your browser cannot confirm authenticity of the site and/or request that you either allow or deny adding an excption for that site. If so, this page will walk you through some steps to grant an exception and continue on to the site.

We have narrowed down the problems to Macintosh users and Firefox users (on Mac or PC). We hope to see Firefox develop an update to their software to resolve this incompatibility, but that would be forthcoming. Currently, if you have the option/choice to use another computer or browser, we recommend using a computer running Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

That said, we want to assure you that the even through you may receive this security alert, if you accept the exception, your data will still be encrypted and thus made more secure. Also, if you "permanently store" the exception in Firefox, you should not have go through the process again.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are continuing to monitor developments that would bring full closure and resolution to this issue.
