The Westmont High School Symphonic Band will present "A Tribute to American Composers" this evening at 7pm in the WHS Auditorium. Visit the following site for more information: http://www.cusd201.org/srhigh/academics/fine_arts
Save the Date: PROM 2010” All interested Westmont High School juniors and seniors are invited to attend our school Prom, “Don’t You Forget About Me”, on Saturday, May 1st at the Lisle/Naperville Hilton. The cost is $65 per person. Freshmen, sophomores, upperclassmen, and out-of-district guests under the age of 21, may attend if they are accompanied by a current Westmont student. Ticket reservation and out-of-district forms will be available prior to Spring Break, which will require signatures. As you begin purchasing formal attire for the dance, be mindful of appropriate and tasteful styles. Information regarding acceptable prom attire will be available on the school website and at the front desk. Ticket sales will occur during the week of April 19th. Further info about Prom will be announced and posted. Stay tuned! Contact Mrs. Dervin or Mrs. Danielski if you have any questions.
Attention seniors: Graduation is just around the corner! Jostens will be at school during lunch on Wednesday, March 17th to deliver your graduation products in the cafeteria. If you have a balance due, please bring your payment in the form of cash or money order.
Battle of the Bands will be held on Thursday, March 25th. Please pick up the application form at the front desk or in the Media Center. All applications must be returned to Ms. Hinckley by March 12th.
Today is your last day to place your March Market Day order. Internet orders are due by 11:00 pm tonight. Customers can picked-up their orders on Monday, March 15th from 4:30-5:30 in the commons. 10% of the March sale profit will go to Sentential Buddiez and the Track team.

The Geography Club is going to Italy over next year’s Spring Break! If you have any interest in coming along, there will be a meeting tonight to discuss all the details. See Mr. Landreth for more information.
Sentinel Buddiez are reminded to return their permission slip for the annual bowling trip to Ms. Polhill or Mrs. Wolf. Any buddies who did not receive permission slips should see Ms. Polhill or Ms. Wolf. Permission slips are due by March 23rd.
We have over 50 people signed up for the blood drive on Friday. If we reach our goal of 75 donors, each donor will receive a gift certificate for a free Chipotle Burrito. Students who are 16 can sign up with parent permission. 17 and 18 year old students can register for themselves. Parents are welcome to participate, too! Today is your last chance to sign-up for the Blood Drive for tomorrow. Help us to reach our goal!
Calling all World Language Club members, the Spanish and French clubs will hold their next meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 in Madame Ensalaco’s room. Topics of discussion will include our spring events, so please bring your calendars. We’ll see you there.
Rotary and HOPE Clubs will meet after school today in room 139. We will have a guest visiting from The Red Thread Promise who will be sharing her experiences at a Haitian orphanage. Please make it a priority to attend. See Mrs. Mahmoud or Ms. Quattrone with any questions.
Attention all Swagger Club members. If you are interested in purchasing the Swagger t-shirts or hooded sweatshirts, all order forms and money are due to Ms. Hurley by Friday March 12th. Order forms were passed out on blue paper again this week. If you are interested, please put order forms and money in an envelope in Ms. Hurley’s mailbox by the end of the day on Friday and she will place the order after school. If we do not have at least a dozen ordered, we cannot place the order. Our next Swagger Meeting in Tuesday, March 16th after school at 3pm in the auditorium. Mark your calendar and don’t be lateJ

All interested Westmont High School juniors and seniors are invited to attend our school Prom, “Don’t You Forget About Me”,on Saturday, May 1st, from 6:30-11:30 PM, at the Lisle/Naperville Hilton in Lisle. The cost is $65 per person. The evening will include dinner & dessert, and dancing to the popular beats of “Soundsation” with classmates and friends. A professional photographer will be available to capture the moment, for an additional fee. Freshmen, sophomores, upperclassmen, and out-of-district guests under the age of 21, may attend if they are accompanied by a current Westmont student. Ticket reservation and out-of-district forms will be available at the front desk prior to Spring Break, which will require signatures. Ticket sales will occur during the week of April 19th. Formal Dress Guidelines: As you begin purchasing formal attire for the dance, be mindful of appropriate and tasteful styles. LADIES: Spaghetti straps, strapless, and backless dresses are allowed as long as the dress is not too revealing, and in good taste. Bare-midriff or sheer dresses are not allowed. GENTLEMEN: a tuxedo or appropriate suit & tie is acceptable. No jeans. Please use your discretion when making selections; the Prom is a formal and elegant evening and any student dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to enter the dance. Congratulations to all of our BPA State Qualifiers: Allison Berg, Iman Daoud, Andi Garcia, Megan Larem, Nikola Micic, Christina Scott, and Lauren Turner. A special congratulations to Allison and Nik for qualifying for BPA Nationals in May!
Last night the varsity scholastic bowl team traveled to Dwight for their regional competition, where the winner would move on to the sectional tournament this weekend. The Sentinels were poised for greatness when they reached the finals after defeating Clifton Central and Iroquois West, but were unable to knock off the I-8 conference champion Dwight. Mr. DeMay would like to thank all of his players for a fantastic year!

Last night the varsity scholastic bowl team traveled to Dwight for their regional competition, where the winner would move on to the sectional tournament this weekend. The Sentinels were poised for greatness when they reached the finals after defeating Clifton Central and Iroquois West, but were unable to knock off the I-8 conference champion Dwight. Mr. DeMay would like to thank all of his players for a fantastic year!
We have over 50 people signed up for the blood drive on Friday. If we reach our goal of 75 donors, each donor will receive a gift certificate for a free Chipotle Burrito. Students who are 16 can sign up with parent permission. 17 and 18 year old students can register for themselves. Parents are welcome to participate, too! Help us to reach our goal!
Attention Parents: Parents are also welcome to donate as well. We are in desperate need of parent volunteers to assist us with the blood drive this Friday. Please feel free to leave a message for Ms. Anderson at (630) 468-8100 if you are interested.

Rotary and HOPE Clubs will meet after school on Thursday, March 11 in room 139. We will have a guest visiting from The Red Thread Promise who will be sharing her experiences at a Haitian orphanage. Please make it a priority to attend. See Mrs. Mahmoud or Ms. Quattrone with any questions.

Starting today the activity buses will leave after school at 4:00 and 6:00.

Interested in polishing up your resume? Need to improve your interviewing skills? Then come to the Career Workshops! The resume workshop will be Tuesday, March 9 at 3pm in the Computer Lab. The interview skills workshop will be Thursday, March 11 at 3pm in the Computer Lab. Please bring a resume to the interview skills workshop.
Battle of the Bands will be held on Thursday, March 25th. Please pick up the application form at the front desk or in the Media Center. All applications must be returned to Ms. Hinckley by March 12th.
Time is running out to get your 2009-10 yearbook. Books are $45 and can be ordered through Mrs. Mahmoud (checks should be made out to CUSD 201) or the school's website (there is a $1 service fee for books ordered online) until March 15. Don't be sorry, order your book today!
Paper Market Day order forms are due back in the main office TODAY, Monday, March 8th at 3:00 pm. Internet orders are due by 11:00 pm on Thursday, March 11th. Market Day orders can be picked-up on Monday, March 15th from 4:30-5:30. 10% of the March sale profit will go to Sentential Buddiez and the Track team.

The Geography Club is going to Italy over next year’s Spring Break! If you have any interest in coming along, there will be a meeting Thursday night to discuss all the details. See Mr. Landreth for more information.
If you are interested in donating blood, you can sign up during lunch hours starting today through Thursday. The blood drive is Friday, March 12th. You must be at least 16 years old or older to donate. 16 year olds need a permission slip signed by next Friday. Please be sure to eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids (especially water) prior to donating. Your donation can make a difference!
