Extreme weather conditions are monitored very closely to determine travel safety. If buses cannot safely operate, or if there is too much snow to plow in time for the start of school, CUSD 201 schools may be closed or a delayed start may be called. The superintendent will make this decision very early in the morning so that parents can be notified.
If it is determined that there will be a delayed start or that school has closed, a voice notification system will be activated and students' homes will be called. Information will also be posted on school websites and on the Emergency Closing Center website. Local radio and television stations will also broadcast the information.
Delayed Start Information
In the event of inclement weather this winter, CUSD 201 may call for a delayed start time for school. Please read the information below.
- If a delayed start is called due to poor weather conditions, it would be in effect for all CUSD 201 schools.
- Delayed start bus routes will run as usual only 1 hour or 2 hours later, depending on the announced delay.
