One of the primary goals of our Westmont High School Guidance Department is to prepare students for life after high school. About 90% of our students are college-bound, with some students attending 2-year institutions and some attending 4-year institutions. Our other students plan to enter the workforce or enlist in the United States Military.
We work with students on post-secondary planning through individual appointments, group lessons, and special large group events such as our annual College Information and Financial Aid Night. Westmont High School also utilizes Career Cruising, an interactive web-based program that helps students search for careers and colleges. The Guidance Department works with students in Career Cruising during their sophomore, junior, and senior years. Students will be provided with Career Cruising access information during the second semester of their sophomore year. After this initial introduction, students will have full online access to Career Cruising until they graduate from Westmont High School.
