SYMPTOMATIC CHILD
Quarantine for 14 days
Symptomatic individual gets a COVID Test = Negative
Symptomatic individual gets another diagnosis from their doctor (bronchitis, strep throat)
ALL FAMILY MEMBERS
Quarantine 14 days (this is the length of time it typically takes for symptoms to resolve)
ALL FAMILY MEMBERS

OR
Symptomatic individual gets a COVID Test = Negative
Symptomatic individual gets another diagnosis from their doctor (bronchitis, strep throat)
INFECTED FAMILY MEMBER
Stay in a separate part of the home from the rest of the family if possible
Isolate for 14 days
ALL OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS
Quarantine for 14 days (this is the typical time it takes for symptoms to present if virus spreads)
Child will quarantine for 14 days
If symptoms develop in this time, call your child’s school and call your doctor
Adult will quarantine for 14 days
If symptoms develop in this time, call your child’s school and call your doctor
COVID 19 Negative Test Results
Doctor note with alternative diagnosis clearly stated with return date to school
SYMPTOMATIC CHILD or FAMILY MEMBER:
After all symptoms have subsided, and child is fever free for 24hrs, without fever reducing medication (Tylenol, Advil).
AND
After Quarantine is Completed, Or
After COVID Test = Neg, Or
After receiving an alternate diagnosis from your doctors
1. Your child will be escorted to an isolation room that will be monitored by the school nurse or other adult designee. You will be contacted by the school and will need to pick up your child ASAP.
2. If your child has any other siblings at CUSD201, those schools will be notified. Those siblings will need to go to the isolation room at their school and wait to be picked up.
3. All children will need to bring home their backpacks, school work, chromebooks, etc.
4. The school nurse will give you a packet that contains the following information:
- Symptoms reported by your child
- Following steps to be taken
- When your child(ren) may return to school
- COVID-19 Testing Sites in /DuPage County
- COVID-19 Testing Sites in or near Westmont
- 14-day fever and symptom forms; days 1-7, days 8-14.
- COVID-19 Quarantine Completion Acknowledgement and Release Form (that needs to be completed if you choose to quarantine).
5. The school nurse will explain the packet, refer you to your healthcare provider and instruct you on the next steps regarding when your child(ren) can safely return to school.
