Daily Announcements - May 6, 2021

GENERAL

The month of May is designated as “Better Speech and Hearing Month”. Speech-language
pathologists are an important part of all schools as they help maximize the success of students
who need additional support. Any students interested pursuing a career in speech therapy can
reach out to Mrs. Greenwood or their counselor for more information.

 

SENIORS

Senior Open Lunches will be Thursday, May 13 th and Thursday, May 20 th . Seniors wishing to
participate should have permission form with parent/guardian signature turned into the
attendance office NO LATER THAN Wednesday, May 12 th . The 5 th period will be adjusted so
seniors, with permission, will be allowed to leave campus from 12:08 pm – 1:10 pm. This give
seniors 62 minutes for open campus lunch. Students should choose locations in the immediate
area. Forms will be available in the attendance office and on the Westmont High School
webpage.

Please make sure to complete your Senior Plans, Senior Quotes & Memories, and
submit your baby pictures by tomorrow - Friday, May 7 in the Senior Google Classroom. All
announcements concerning end-of-the-year festivities will be posted in Classroom.  If you need
help accessing Classroom, please see Mrs. Mahmoud ASAP. ALSO, please let Mrs Shammas
know no later than May 14th  if not attending the graduation ceremony.

 

CLUBS
The People’s Resource Center Jr. Board is doing a cleaning drive through May 21st. They are
collecting items such as sanitation wipes, dish soap, sponges, detergent, mops, buckets, paper
towels, etc for the PRC. These can be dropped off at the media center anytime or you can give
your donation to a PRC junior board member. 

 

ATHLETICS
Westmont 12 Arlington Heights (Christian Liberty Academy) 2. Westmont 8 Crete (Illinois
Lutheran) 1. Westmont improves to 4-15 on the season!!! Way to play awesome baseball today
guys!!! In game 1 James Postawa had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Jason Czaplewski had 2 hits and 2 RBI
and Noah Grimm had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Jack Gedraitis added 2 hits and Lucas Hicks pitched a
complete game 10 Strikeouts and only 1 ER. In game 2 Caleb Kleinz allowed only 1 run in a
complete game 9 strikeout performance. Spencer Anton and James Postawa had 3 Hits. Lucas
Hicks, Noah Valentin, and Luke Szyszka also added 2 Hits.
