General

Homecoming shirts will be on sale during the lunch periods on Thursday and Friday. Cost is $10.

Hey Sentinels! Do you have a dress that you won’t wear? Do you need a dress for homecoming? Come drop your dress off at Mrs. Templeton’s room before or after school or during 5A lunch! For more information, look at the flyers in the hallway or talk to Makenzie Blaine, Louisa Gheorghita or Lizzy Szynal. 

Any student who plans to take an AP test this year MUST register for their exam before October 15.  Late fees will apply for registering after the deadline. Check with any AP teacher for the join codes.  If you have questions or need assistance please see Mr. Finlayson or Kappy for help.

We are pleased to announce that we will be performing Our Town by Thornton Wilder on November 5 and 6. Auditions will be held next Monday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 21 in the auditorium. Audition materials, sign-up, and a tentative schedule are posted in the Fall Play Google Classroom. Students interested in non-acting roles should also visit classroom for information. See Mrs. Mahmoud if you have any questions.

 

Clubs

Hey Sentinels: Geography Club is planning to travel to Spain and Portugal in June of 2022! Interested in exploring Madrid, Lisbon, Porto, and much more in these two fascinating Iberian countries? Stop by Mr. Landreth's room to pick up more information. If you have any questions, see either Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne.

All students are welcome to attend the Westmont Alliance Club meeting Tuesday, September 28th after school at 3:00 pm in the Art Room.  The Alliance club is a safe space for all students to socialize, learn about important issues in the LGBTQ community, as well as work to make our communities more welcoming and supportive spaces for all people. 

The French Club will be meeting for a Movie Morning on Thursday, September 23 at 7:30 am in Room 123.  Come in and spend your Thursday morning watching Ratatouille with the French Club!!


 

Athletics

The girls basketball team is looking for help: They need a Team manager: someone who has an understanding of basketball, is well organized, and has a good attention to detail, available for every game and practice as well as a Video production manager who is good at editing video and wants to gain experience in media arts or sports video production. Also need to be available the entire season.

The Sentinel Dance Squad will be holding tryouts for anyone interested on September 20 and 21. Tryouts will be held from 5 - 8 p.m.  In order to try out - you must complete the online 8 to 18 registration and have a current physical.

Boys soccer came from behind again to defeat Bishop Mac 2-1. Valdet Dalipi tied the game in the second half with a nice assist from Carlos Martinez. Carlos had his 2nd assist to Abe Johnson who scored in his fifth consecutive game and 9th total goal of the season. Westmont is 2-1 in conference and will face Aurora central next Tuesday.
