Any student who plans to take an AP test this year MUST register for their exam before October 15, 2021.  Late fees will apply for registering after the deadline. Check with any AP teacher for the join codes.  If you have questions or need assistance please see Mr. Finlayson or Kappy for help. 

We are pleased to announce that we will be performing Our Town by Thornton Wilder on November 5 and 6. Auditions will be held next Monday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 21 in the auditorium. Audition materials, sign-up, and a tentative schedule are posted in the Fall Play Google Classroom. Students interested in non-acting roles should also visit classroom for information. See Mrs. Mahmoud if you have any questions.

Hey there Sentinels, do you like watching the game show Jeopardy? Do you like flexing on your friends and classmates with all the knowledge in your noggin? If you want to be a part of a team that has a blast while giving their best, come on down to the Scholastic Bowl information meeting on Tuesday morning, in Mr. DeMay's room at 7:45am. If you cannot make the meeting, please come see Mr. DeMay or Mr. Chamberlain, or just. come to practice on Thursday. Returning players, bring a friend.

Clubs

Hey Sentinels: Geography Club is planning to travel to Spain and Portugal in June of 2022! Interested in exploring Madrid, Lisbon, Porto, and much more in these two fascinating Iberian countries? Stop by Mr.Landreth's room to pick up more information. If you have any questions, see either Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne.


All students are welcome to attend the Westmont Alliance Club meeting Tuesday, September 28th after school at 3:00 pm in the Art Room.  The Alliance club is a safe space for all students to socialize, learn about important issues in the LGBTQ community, as well as work to make our communities more welcoming and supportive spaces for all people. 

The French Club will be meeting for a Movie Morning on Thursday, September 23 at 7:30 am in Room 123.  Come in and spend your Thursday morning watching Ratatouille with the French Club!!

Athletics

The Sentinel Dance Squad will be holding tryouts for anyone interested on September 20 and 21. Tryouts will be held from 6 - 8 p.m.  In order to try out - you must complete the online 8 to 18 registration and have a current physical.

The Athletic Department is proud to announce its newest inductees to the Sentinel Hall of Fame: Sara Sternard, Henry Arndt, Charlie Donovan, Coach Blackburn and the 1994 Girls Cross Country Team.   

Congratulations for all you have accomplished at Westmont High School and beyond.   Nominations are now open for the Class of 2022Hall of Fame.  Nomination forms are available at the Booster Concession Stand or from Kappy.


The Sentinel Cross Country teams had a great day on Saturday at the Dale Donner Invitational. The girls team of Lizzy Szynal, Mikayla Hickey, Abby Strohmaier, Callie Devine and Annikah Engstrom took 8th place, just seven points away from a 5th place finish! Four Sentinels earned trophies: Kaleb Sica ran to a 12th place finish in the Frosh-Soph Boys race, then Lizzy Szynal finished 6th and Mikayla Hickey 23rd in the varsity girls race, and Tim Rosland earned 7th place in the boys varsity race! Congratulations, Sentinels!  Both cross country teams will be at home tomorrow afternoon. Race time is 4:30 pm - come out and support your Sentinels!

Congratulations to the sophomore volleyball team who picked up two more wins and a fourth place finish in the WHS Frosh-Soph Tournament.  Nice job ladies!!
