Sentinels, PROM 2022 is on Saturday, May 7th at The Carlisle on Butterfield in Lombard.   Tickets are $85 per person. Tickets will go on sale when we return from spring  break.  While shopping for prom, please remember that attire should be both formal and tasteful.  All Juniors and Seniors will receive a "Save the Date" information sheet during the week of March 14th.

Sentinels, do you find that you have a lot of spare eyewear in your junk drawer or just laying around the house?  It does not matter if you donate glasses purchased from lenscrafters, an optometrists office or the "cheaters" that you can buy at Target, Walmart or even the dollar store.  Rotary Interact´s gently used eye glasses drive will put them in the hands of those that can help someone in need see better.   Bring those old glasses into room 125, Señorita´s room on or before Monday, May 2nd.

Clubs

On Saturday, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Seneca High School for the Sectional Tournament, where the winner would qualify for the state championship tournament. The Sentinels were the only public school there, and the other three teams, all private schools, had a combined tuition of nearly $95,000 per year.

The Sentinels wasted no time dispatching FW Parker, 460-250. The Sentinels then faced top seeded, and conference nemesis, Timothy Christian. The Sentinels were down after the first question, but regained the lead and never trailed again, dominating TC 500-240. The final match was against Latin High School, a team the Sentinels have never beat. It was a back and forth match throughout, but the Sentinels finished the match on a 120-0 run to win the match, and the tournament, 380-350.

This is the first time that the team has won Sectionals, and the first time qualifying for the state tournament. Please congratulate captain Pranav Viswanath, Akshar Goyal, Omer Mohsin, Michael Smith, Mark Michalik, Ben Steger, Brandon Gacek, Joshua Graham and Luke Kaestner on their championship.

Athletics

The boys Track and Field team competed at Oswego High School Friday night against 3A powerhouses Waubonsie Valley, Oswego and West Aurora High Schools.  Our small squad held their own, setting an incredible number of PRs.  Highlights of the evening include: Tony Cole, 1st place long jump, Michael Doll and Henry O'Connor went 1-2 in the high hurdles. Our 4 x 1 lap relay team of Tony Cole, Braelen Jones, James Mendoza and Michael Doll set a school record. A huge congratulations to  Michael Doll, 1st place triple jump,  who broke his own school record.  Michael is now the #1 triple jumper in the  1A Division in the State.  Way to go men.
