General – Hello Westmont High School students!

Thank you for your support last spring after the war started in Ukraine. At that time, Westmont High School shared information during a school-wide assembly and started fundraising efforts.

In order to continue showing our support of Ukraine, please plan to wear your “I support Ukraine” shirts or just blue and yellow colors (the colors of the Ukrainian flag) to school on Wednesday.

There will be a Student Council Meeting Thursday, August 25th in the Media Center from 3:00 4:00 We will Discuss Homecoming and Executive Board Elections.  Look for more information in the Student Council Google Classroom.  If you have not signed up for Student Council and you are interested see Mrs. Jacobs or Mrs. Van Erden for more information. 

We are getting ready to announce the title of the fall play and are looking for actors and stage crew! Auditions for actors will take place on Wednesday, September 7 after school. Interested actors and stage crew should join the Google classroom. The join code is: eigx35d

Clubs – Hey Sentinels! Geography Club will have its informational meeting for the 2022-2023 school year right after school on Wednesday, August 24th in the Auditorium. All Sentinels interested in joining Geography Club this year should attend this meeting. Questions? See Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne pronto.

Are you interested in learning more about Spanish or French speaking countries, culture...and food?   Why not join the French Club or the Spanish Club.   We invite you to our first meeting on Thursday, August 25th before school in room 123.  We look forward to seeing you and your friend -or come alone and make new friends!  We will meet in Madame Ensalaco's room, number 123 Thursday morning.  

Rotary Interact is holding our first meeting this Thursday and you are invited!   We are looking for volunteers to work at local events and hold fundraisers or drives to help organizations that help those in need. This is a great opportunity for you to start -or continue- building your high school resume.  It will also look great on any job application or college resume.  Rotary's first meeting is in Señorita Lott´s room that's room 125- this Wednesday before school at 7:30 -or as soon as you get here! 

Rotary Interact is a service organization that volunteers at local events and holds fundraisers or drives to help organizations that help those in need. This is a great opportunity for you to start -or continue- building your high school resume.  Being a member of a service organization will look great on any job application or college resume.  Rotary Interact is holding its first meeting of the year in Señorita Lott´s room -that is in room 125- next week on Wednesday, August 24th before school.   See you Wednesday morning! 

Like to make art?  Like to watch Artsy Movies? Art Club is for YOU!  Art Club is open to everyone and meets every Monday after school in the art room. Art Club is an open studio for exploring your art-making ideas!  Sometimes we focus on different art-making activities, watch art-themed movies with snacks, or just come hang out in the studio and do your own thing!!  The First Art Club Meeting is Monday August 29th.

Psych club will meet during 5AB lunch in room 106 with Ms. Dunbar everyday.  Membership is open to anyone that wants to participate.  Today we will have nominations for club officers, and then we will put together a list of Psych movies that we will watch during lunch.

Athletics – Only 148 days until Track and Field.

Hey Sentinels:  How would you like the opportunity to be a Ball Boy for the upcoming Chicago Bulls season?   We are looking for someone reliable who can get to the United Center on their own.    If you are interested, stop by the Athletic Bunker and sign up with Kappy.  There will be an interview to pick a few Ball Boys for the Chicago Bulls.
