General-

If anyone is missing a swimsuit and goggles please pick them up in the nurses office.

Parking permits are in.  Please see Mrs. Grahn as soon as possible.

Westmont High School will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT exam on Wednesday, October 12th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The PSAT/NMSQT can qualify any participating junior student for scholarships, including the National Merit Scholar Program. Interested sophomores may choose to take this exam as a practice. In general, students who score in the top 1% in the nation on the PSAT/NMSQT are deemed Semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Sophomore and juniors will still be provided several Practice SAT opportunities throughout the year; this exam is just for those juniors who wish to compete for the National Merit Scholarship.

All interested students should sign up with Ms. Grahn in the main office with a $20 fee before Friday, October 7th. Cash or check made out to Westmont High School will be accepted, spots are limited.

"Attention former AP U.S and AP World history students, Mr. K is desperately in need of your help. 

 If any of you have copies of your old AMSCO APUSH or Modern World History books, and you would be ok with donating them to Mr. K, he would be eternally grateful.   Please check your lockers or closets and if you don’t want or need those AMSCO books please drop them off to Mr. K’s room or the office.  Thank you."

Clubs –

NHS will meet tomorrow, Friday, September 2nd, at 7:30 AM in the Auditorium. Please be on time, bring your dues and get your T-shirt.

Yearbook Club will hold its first meeting on Thursday, September 15 right after school in the art room. See Mrs. Mahmoud or Ms. Jacobs with questions.

The first Geography Club field trip of the year will be on Sunday, September 11th, to visit Chicago's world-famous Lincoln Park Zoo - one of the oldest zoos in America - and one of the very few zoos with FREE ADMISSION! Permission slips are available in Mr. Landreth's room and must be turned in by Thursday, September 8.

Athletics –

Hey Sentinels:  How would you like the opportunity to be a Ball Boy for the upcoming Chicago Bulls season?   We are looking for someone reliable who can get to the United Center on their own.    If you are interested, stop by the Athletic Bunker and sign up with Kappy.  There will be an interview to pick a few Ball Boys for the Chicago Bulls.
