ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR

Wednesday, January 11, 2023

General –

Welcome back Year bookers!

Just a reminder that our next meeting is Thursday, Jan. 12 after school in Ms. Jacobs' room.

See you then!

Attention students who are at least 16 and staff:

The National Honor Society is sponsoring a Blood Drive next Thursday from 8 AM - 2 PM

We encourage you to sign up during lunch or a Study Hall.  You may only miss a class with teacher consent. Please consider signing up to donate blood and save lives.  Look for the flyers around school and scan the QR code to sign up.

Clubs –

Join CAPAOW (Club of Asian and Pacific Americans of Westmont) as we visit H-Mart in Naperville on Friday, January 13, after school from 3 until 6.  Permission slips are available in the Media Center.  Space is limited so get your slips in ASAP.

There is still time to sign up to travel with Geography Club this summer in Spain and France! The final deadline to sign up is February 1st. See Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne with any questions.

Athletics –

Tracksters:   Our 2023 season begins next Tuesday after school.  You must have an Okay to Play card completed prior to beginning on Tuesday.  This will require a completed 8 to 18 registration as well as a current physical on file.  Make sure you are on the Team Google Classroom to get our season calendar and all of our information this week.

Are you planning on joining a sport in the Spring? What are you doing to prepare? Strength and conditioning will be offering sessions before and after school starting next week.  Before school sessions will be Monday and Wednesday and after school sessions will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Follow Westmont strength on Instagram future weight room schedules and information on strength, nutrition, and recovery.

Congrats to the boys varsity basketball team for their 65-48 win over Elmwood Park. It was a great team effort on both ends of the court. Joey Dooley scored 14, Abe Johnson scored 16, and Joe Kone led all scorers with 26 points.
