General –

 It is PROMPOSAL season!  If you are trying to come up with the perfect way to ask your special someone to prom? Stop in and talk with Mrs. Zorbas -the prom committee has a Rose Promposal to fit your budget!   

Donate new/gently used shoes that have no tears, no holes, no floppy soles and be the lucky winner of an EARLY START TO SPRING BREAK!   Here is how it works:   Bring your new/gently used shoes that you are donating to room 125.   For every accepted pair of shoes, you will receive a raffle ticket. The more raffle tickets you earn, the better your chances of winning 7th hour off on the last day of school before spring break!   Questions, please see Señorita in room 125, 

Drama Club will meet today after school from 3-4:30 pm in the auditorium. Join Mr. Baustista, Mrs. Mahmoud, and local actor, Mike Kinnavy for improv games. We cannot wait to see you there!

Clubs –

“Hey Sentinels!” Are you anticipating the long-awaited return of warmer weather? Well, it is not too early to start thinking about spring break... that is, spring break of 2024! Geography Club is pleased to officially announce that next school year, 2023-2024, during spring break, we will be traveling to COSTA RICA!!! More details will be shared soon, but there is information in the Geography Club Google Classroom and a link to the trip website. See Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne with any questions!

Get your aprons out, the Spanish and French clubs are cooking after school this Friday, March 10th in the foods lab.   Please sign up with either Madam Ensalaco or Señorita by Wednesday, March 8th so we can purchase our supplies.  

Athletics –

Congratulations to the girls track and field team on a fantastic meet at the Argo Invitational on Saturday against strong 2A and 3A competition. Tons of personal bests were set on the day! Top finishers for the Sentinels were: Cate McDaniels in the pole vault, Annikah Engstrom in the high jump, the 4x400 relay of Jade Curtis, Stella Salvato-Francese, Annikah Engstrom and Cate McDaniels, and a special congratulations to the 4x160 relay of Jade Curtis, Emma Silva, Annikah Engstrom and Cate McDaniels who broke the school record in that event with a time of 1:35.39! Way to go Sentinels!

The Boys Track and Field team had an outstanding showing at the 1st Annual Richton Township Raptor Invitational on Saturday. Our Sentinels ran away with some stellar performances against a predominantly 3A powerhouse field of competition.  Top scorers for the Sentinels:  Billy McGhie, 4th place high jump, Tim Rosland, 4th place 1600, and Matt Pecard 3rd place pole vault. We are very proud of your performances, men!

The boys basketball program would like to thank everyone that came out Thursday night to watch the faculty basketball game.  It was a fun game with lots of action.  Unfortunately, the team consisting of the junior high and elementary teachers got hot from behind the arc in the 2nd half and they cruised to an easy 71-52 victory.  Special thanks to our high school faculty participants: Mrs. Nardini, Mr. Delgado, Mr. DeLisle, Mr. Chamberlain, Mr. Roach, Mr. Palmer, Mr. Etheridge, Dr. Weck, Coach McDaniels, Coach Brown, and Coach Jackson.  Additional thanks goes out to our officials Deillza Dalipi and Joey Dooley. 

Spring Sports Information Night will be on Wednesday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Common’s. All spring athletes and their parents are encouraged to attend.

For the remainder of the school year, strength and conditioning will be offered before school Tuesday and Thursday and after school Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  If you are interested in attending a season, see Coach Farthing in Room 104.
