General –
Junior and Senior Students:
Spots for the Great America field trip on May 20 are filling up fast! Don't wait to sign up, or you will be disappointed. See Ms. Ramsey or Ms. Vera in the front office with your permission slip and payment. Sign up closes on Friday, March 24.
Clubs –
Yearbook Club will meet right after school in Ms. Jacobs' room this Thursday, March 23. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Next school year, the Geography Club will be traveling to COSTA RICA during Spring Break 2024! Any Sentinel student who is interested in joining this trip should plan on attending an informational meeting with their parent or guardian on Tuesday, March 21st at 7:00 pm in Mr. Landreth's room. A link to the trip website is on our Google Classroom for interested students to look at. Please see Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne with any questions.
Athletics –
The boys track and field team had solid performances at their big meet last Saturday defeating 3A opponents West Aurora, Metea Valley and Waubonsie Valley. Host Oswego narrowly beat the Sentinels. Top finishers for the boys team were: Tim Rosland, 2nd place in the 800 and meet champion in the 1600, Paul Lalonde, 2nd place in the 3200, Henry O'Connor and Paul Tikhiy went 2-3 in the hurdles, The 4 x 4 was meet champion (Quentin Jarlson, Kaleb Sica, Henry O'Connor, Matt Pecard), Billy McGhie was champion in the high jump, Matt Pecard took 2nd in the pole vault and the 4 x 800 crushed the field to take 1st place (Quentin Jarlson, Kaleb Sica, Tim Rosland, Henry O'Connor). A shout out goes to Carter Sullivan who was JV meet champion in the 55 hurdles.
This past Saturday - the Sentinels rejoined the 1A competition. The girls team finished in 6th place out of the 10 teams. The boys team brought home the 3rd place trophy. Outstanding performances for the Sentinel Trackstars were: Kam Singleton 2nd place shot put, Henry O'Connor, 2nd place 400 and 60 hurdles, Matt Pecard, 2nd place pole vault, and meet champions in the 4 x 4 (Quentin Jarlson, Kaleb Sica, Henry O'Connor and Matt Pecard). The Track team opens up their indoor season at home tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21.
Spring Senior Athletes - your senior cutouts are due to Kappy by March 23.
This week Strength and conditioning will be offered Wednesday and Friday morning and Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school.
