 Dear Panther Families and Community,

Welcome to Westmont Junior High School, where we stand behind our adage of ‘Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe’ by creating a dynamic learning environment centered around our students’ academic growth and success as well as their social/emotional well-being.

I began my career in teaching over 20 years ago in a middle school in Berwyn, where I taught various ELA subjects such as Literacy, Communications, and Debate classes. After receiving my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist, I was hired at CUSD 201 in 2008 and split my time as a Literacy Coach between Westmont Jr. and Sr. High Schools. In 2010, I became Assistant Principal at WJHS and have been working side-by-side with the dedicated staff at the Jr. High ever since.

Education is both my career and my hobby. I pursue my passion outside of the school day by tutoring students in executive skills functioning, reading, and ACT prep. I am also an avid researcher and have worked for years as an Adjunct Professor at Benedictine University in both their Reading and ESL Teaching Programs.

Putting students first is at the heart of my servant leadership philosophy; our students’ safety and needs are what drives every decision we make. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our students and their families and teaching our students the value of citizenship. I firmly believe in the power of giving back to our community and having our students develop a vested interest in improving the town in which they live. I believe in leading by example, therefore, I am heavily involved in volunteering at Westmont community events.

My goal for Westmont Junior High is to continue the Panther Path towards excellence that we have already established while continuing to build upon the strong foundation of our CUSD 201 Small Giants vision.
