Brian Johnson

7th Grade Science

Brian joins the faculty with over 15 years of experience in the field of education.  Before coming to WJHS, he led a team of instructional coaches at the Chicago non-profit LEAP Innovations, supporting schools across the city in the development of more equitable and personalized classrooms for students.  Prior to that, Brian spent ten years as a high school and middle school science teacher and principal with Summit Public Schools in the San Francisco Bay area.  He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Northwestern and a master’s in Education from Stanford University.  Brian grew up in Downers Grove and is happy to be living there again now with his wife, two kids, dog, and two guinea pigs.
