STUDENT SERVICES
 

The Student Services Department is committed to ensuring that every student has access to the support and services needed to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and functionally. We partner with families, educators, and community agencies to identify, evaluate, and provide individualized Special Education and Related Services for students with disabilities in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Illinois State Board of Education. Through a continuum of supports and evidence-based practices, our goal is to provide meaningful access to rigorous learning opportunities while fostering independence, inclusion, and success. We believe all students should learn in the least restrictive environment appropriate to their individual needs, where they are valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Westmont Community Unit School District 201 offers a comprehensive range of special education and related services designed to support the unique learning, behavioral, communication, functional, and social-emotional needs of students with identified disabilities. Services are available for eligible students beginning at age three through post-secondary transition programming. Guided by a strengths-based, student-centered approach, our team works collaboratively with families and school staff to develop individualized supports that remove barriers to learning and prepare students for continued education, employment, independent living, and meaningful participation in their communities.
