Student Handbook

We are excited to introduce a great new feature now available on our websites — the CUSD 201 Electronic Student Handbook.

This new handbook brings together all the information you need about your child’s school, our district policies, and community resources in one convenient place. We have aligned it across all CUSD 201 schools to better serve our students and families, making it a valuable, easy-to-use resource for everyone.

Key Features:

Hyperlinked Table of Contents – Simply scroll through the handbook and use the interactive table of contents to navigate directly to the section you need.

Eight Organized Sections – The handbook is divided into clear sections for quick access, with district-wide information that applies to all schools as well as school-specific details.

Direct School Links – You can jump straight to your school’s section with just one click.

We hope this handbook will become your go-to resource for both district and school-level information, helping you stay informed and connected.

A big thank you goes to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this possible. We truly appreciate the dedication and effort that went into creating our new Illinois Mandate Compliant Electronic Handbook.

Thank you for being an engaged part of the CUSD 201 family!

CUSD 201 Acceptable Use Policy

The CUSD 201 Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs the appropriate use of all District electronic networks and technology resources, including District-owned devices and access to the Internet. This document promotes educational excellence by facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and communication, while underscoring the responsibility required of users. The AUP outlines the terms and conditions for technology use, which must be for educational or research purposes and consistent with the District's academic objectives. It outlines unacceptable behaviors, including illegal activities, unauthorized access, harassment, and commercial use.

The Acceptable Use Policy includes a section specifically addressing the acceptable use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This outlines appropriate uses, such as using AI to support learning when allowed by a teacher and ensuring that all content is properly cited. It also specifies strictly prohibited uses, including academic dishonesty, generating harmful content like deepfakes, and violating privacy or data protections.
Students and parents/guardians are required to agree to the AUP, acknowledging that use is a privilege and that inappropriate actions, including misuse of AI, may result in the loss of technology privileges, academic consequences, disciplinary action per the Student Handbook, and potential legal action.

The document also informs users that the District reserves the right to monitor all technology use, and there is no expectation of privacy on District networks.
