September 11, 2020

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

Our entire school community shares one goal; a return to in-person learning. Please know that our staff wants to have students in buildings as much as our parents and students want to return to school. As a District, we are working diligently to accomplish this goal.

This past week we have had small groups of students in our schools. The hope is to increase the number of students over the next couple of weeks. Having small groups of students in each of our buildings provides the schools with an opportunity to review protocols and procedures before increasing the number of students. This is allowing the District to modify protocols before the transition to hybrid models. The protocols for each school will be communicated to families before we switch to hybrid learning.

The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD)  is going to start releasing the school metrics on Monday’s. I will share the updated report on Monday, September 14. Starting the week of September 21, the parent update will be sent on Mondays to include the most up to date metrics.

The DCHD did issue a press release today because the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) moved DuPage County from blue to orange. The IDPH has a slightly different color-coding system. The move to orange is due to the increasing transmission of COVID-19 in DuPage County. Here is a link to the press release. (DCHD Press Release)

The District will not be able to transition to in-person learning if the metrics continue to increase. We all need to do our part. Follow the basic guidelines, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, maintain social distance, and cover a sneeze or cough.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Remote Learning

Remote learning will continue in the week of September 14. Please use this link to view the plan.
