November 9, 2020

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

The DuPage County Health Department released the updated school metrics today, Monday, November 9. Here is the link to the data (DCHD Week 44 School Metrics). As a comparison, here is a link to the data posted one-week prior (DCHD Week 43 School Metrics). The most recent data show all six metrics are at a substantial transmission level, and all six metrics are increasing. The Governor will announce that our region will move from tier 1 mitigation to tier 2 mitigation. Locally, Clarendon Hills has a rolling seven-day positivity rate of 15.4%; Downers Grove is 11.6%, and Westmont is 9.8%

The metrics will need to stabilize or start to decrease, to consider a return to in-person learning. The week of November 16, CUSD 201 will remain in remote learning. The schools will bring in small groups. The schools will be sharing additional information with our families.

We all want our students back in school, but we need to do it safely. As a District, we continue to work collaboratively with our teachers and non-certified staff to provide your students with the best possible education. We continue to explore ways we can bring students into the school safely.

You will receive additional information later this week.

Take care,

Kevin Carey

Superintendent
