December 30, 2020

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

I hope this communication finds you enjoying the Holiday Season and looking forward to a fresh start in 2021.

The DuPage County Health Department posted the DCHD School Metrics for Week 51. Four of the six metrics are at a substantial level of transmission. The numbers are decreasing, which is a positive sign. Next Monday, we will see if there is a spike due to holiday celebrations and travel.  The immediate area’s seven-day positivity rate is Westmont - 7.55%, Hinsdale - 6.85%, Downers Grove - 8.21%, and Clarendon Hills - 9.04%. The one concerning trend is that four days ago, the seven-day positivity average for Westmont was only 3.74%.

The new semester begins January 4, 2021, and the District will begin with remote learning. The plan is to transition to hybrid learning on January 19. The District is in the process of finalizing the decision making metrics. Next week’s Parent Update will include the updated information. I believe the updated metrics will provide more flexibility in our decision-making and allow the District to meet our goal to have as many students attend in-person consistently. Calendar for November 16 through January 19

We will be closing the strategic plan survey soon. You can complete the survey using one of the following links: Strategic Plan Survey (English Version) or Strategic Plan Survey (Spanish Version). The information from the survey will inform the strategic planning process. When completing the survey, please use a pre-COVID-19 lens.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Remote Learning
