February 5, 2021

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

As we begin to plan for the fourth quarter, the schools will begin to survey families the week of February 8th. Families will have the option of remote or hybrid learning for the fourth quarter.

The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 3 on Monday. As of February 4th, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 2.51%, Hinsdale is 4.28%, Downers Grove is 3.87%, and Clarendon Hills is 4.95%. The average positivity rate for our community is 3.90%. The low positivity rate in our community and the safety protocols we have in place will allow CUSD 201 to remain hybrid for the Week of February 8th.

Please continue to follow the CDC and IDPH mitigations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to practice social distancing, wear masks in public and wash your hands frequently.

High School sports have resumed practicing and competitions. The High School has implemented safety protocols to minimize the threat of COVID-19. The High School will be sharing additional information with high school families.

The DCHD has not notified CUSD 201 when the vaccine will be available to staff. We are working with two pharmacies to increase our chances of securing the vaccine. We are doing everything we can to improve our chances of receiving the vaccine, including offering to host a vaccine clinic for other individuals in Tier 1B.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.

Remote Learning

MEAL DISTRIBUTION FOR THE WEEK OF February 7, 2021

Meal pick-up is on Monday, February 08, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Westmont Junior High.

Meals are available free of charge to CUSD 201 families for children 18 and younger.

Parents will be given eight days’ worth of breakfast and lunch.   Please use the drive off Oakwood in front of the Junior High School.  The CUSD 201 staff will bring the food to you.  If you are unable to come to the Junior High at the designated time, please call 630-468-8121.

The Superbowl is traditionally an opportunity to host parties to watch the game. Health experts are discouraging parties this year.  It has been a challenging year, and not being able to gather with families and friends has been very difficult.  If we continue to follow health experts’ advice, we do our part to minimize the virus’s spread.

Take care,

Kevin Carey
