Parent Update February 12th

February 12, 2021

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

The IDPH has identified two Covid-19 variants in Illinois. The concern about the new variants is that they are more contagious than the original virus. More than ever, it is essential to practice the most effective mitigations. Please continue to wear masks in public, practice social distancing, and wash your hands. During spring break, if your family travels out of state, CUSD 201 encourages students to quarantine for ten days before returning to school.

The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 4 on Monday. As of February 11th, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 3.35%, Hinsdale is 5.01%, Downers Grove is 4.34%, and Clarendon Hills is 4.17%. The average positivity rate for our community is 4.22%. The low positivity rate in our community and the safety protocols we have in place will allow CUSD 201 to remain hybrid for the Week of February 15th.

The DCHD has not notified CUSD 201 when the vaccine will be available to staff.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

Hybrid Learning
The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.

Remote Learning
