Dear CUSD 201 Families,
One year ago, the pandemic spread across the country, and within days states were issuing stay-at-home orders and closing schools. In Illinois, schools would transition to remote learning for the remainder of the school year. School districts had to quickly develop remote learning plans and get electronic devices into student’s hands. Teachers had to adapt and be creative to deliver lessons from their homes to their students’ homes.
I cannot express my appreciation enough for our teachers and staff, and the amazing work they have done this past year. I am also appreciative of our families and the entire school community. The last year has been far from typical, and CUSD 201 has risen to the challenge.
The ISBE and IDPH have issued revised guidance for schools and in-person learning (Revised School Guidance). CUSD 201 will communicate to school families how the new guidance will impact the 4th quarter. The schools will share information in the near future.
The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 8 on Monday. As of March 10, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 1.97%, Hinsdale is 3.42%, Downers Grove is 5.59%, and Clarendon Hills is 4.31%. The average positivity rate for our community is 3.82%. Our community’s low positivity rate and the safety protocols we have in place will allow CUSD 201 to remain hybrid for the Week of March 15.

Transportation
With the start of the fourth quarter, we have more students riding buses. Please remind your children to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Students are to be at their bus stop 10 minutes before the designated pick-up time.
- Students need to wear masks at all times on the bus.
- Students must sit in their assigned seats and not change seats during the bus ride.
- No eating or drinking on the bus.

Spring Break
If families travel out of state or the country during spring break, your children should quarantine before returning to school for in-person learning. You can have your child get tested upon return and quarantine for 7 days, or if they are not tested, quarantine for 10 days.

The District has updated the Hybrid Learning Plan. Here is a link to the plan (CUSD 201 Hybrid Learning Plan). Also, each of the schools will be sending out additional information to school families. The District will update this document regularly. It is a good idea to revisit this document periodically, including the frequently asked questions.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION FOR THE WEEK OF March 14, 2021
Meal pick-up is on Monday, March 15, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Westmont Junior High.
Meals are available free of charge to CUSD 201 families for children 18 and younger.
The District will provide parents with seven days worth of breakfast and lunch. Please use the driveway off Oakwood in front of the Junior High School. A CUSD 201 employee will bring the food to your car. If you are unable to come to the Junior High at the designated time, please call 630-468-8121.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. We still need to continue to practice the mitigations that are proven to work. Please wear a mask in public, social distancing, and washing your hands frequently.

Estimadas familias de CUSD 201,
Hace un año, la pandemia se extendió por todo el país y, en cuestión de días, los estados emitían órdenes de quedarse en casa y cerraban escuelas. En Illinois, las escuelas pasarían al aprendizaje remoto durante el resto del año escolar. Los profesores tenían que adaptarse y ser creativos para impartir lecciones desde sus hogares hasta los hogares de sus alumnos.
No puedo expresar mi agradecimiento lo suficiente por nuestros maestros y personal y el increíble trabajo que han hecho el año pasado. También aprecio a nuestras familias y a toda la comunidad escolar. El último año ha estado lejos de ser típico, y CUSD 201 ha estado a la altura del desafío.
ISBE y el IDPH han publicado una guía revisada para las escuelas y el aprendizaje en persona (Orientación escolar revisada). CUSD 201 comunicará a las familias de la escuela cómo la nueva guía afectará el cuarto trimestre. Las escuelas compartirán información en un futuro próximo.
El DCHD publicó la Semana 8 de Métricas Escolares de DCHD el lunes. Al 10 de marzo, la tasa de positividad de siete días para Westmont es 1.93%, Hinsdale es 4.61%, Downers Grove es 6.64% y Clarendon Hills es 3.40%. La tasa de positividad promedio para nuestra comunidad es 4.15%. La baja tasa de positividad de nuestra comunidad y los protocolos de seguridad que tenemos permitirán que CUSD 201 siga siendo híbrido durante la semana del 15 de marzo.

Transporte:

Vacaciones de primavera:
Si las familias viajan fuera del estado o del país durante las vacaciones de primavera, sus hijos deben ponerse en cuarentena antes de regresar a la escuela para el aprendizaje en persona. Puede hacer que su hijo(a) se haga la prueba al regresar y ponerlo en cuarentena durante 7 días, o si no lo hacen, ponerlo en cuarentena durante 10 días.
Aprendizaje híbrido

Además, cada una de las escuelas enviará información adicional a las familias escolares. El Distrito actualizará este documento con regularidad. Es una buena idea revisar este documento periódicamente, incluidas las preguntas frecuentes.
DISTRIBUCIÓN DE COMIDAS PARA LA SEMANA DEL 14 de marzo de 2021
La recogida de comidas es el lunes 15 de marzo de 2021 a partir de las 3:30 p.m. hasta las 5:00 p.m. en Westmont Junior High.
Las comidas están disponibles sin cargo para las familias de CUSD 201 para niños menores de 18 años.
El Distrito proporcionará a los padres desayuno y almuerzo para siete días. Utilice el camino de entrada de Oakwood frente a la escuela secundaria. Un empleado de CUSD 201 llevará la comida a su automóvil. Si no puede asistir a la secundaria a la hora designada, llame al 630-468-8121.
