April 23, 2021

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

CUSD 201 will resume full days of instruction the week of April 26. The number of students who have chosen in-person instruction has increased, and the schools have made the necessary adjustments to accommodate the students. The District will not be able to accommodate students who want to switch between remote and in-person instruction. If a student is traveling or needs to miss school, the student will not change to remote learning. The District will make allowances for students who need to quarantine.

DuPage County school districts are working together to host vaccine clinics for students 16 years of age and older. Tentatively, Wesmont High Students will be able to receive the vaccine on May 20. We are still in the process of finalizing the details. The District will provide parents of high school students with additional information once the details are finalized.

The Board will be accepting letters of interest to fill a board vacancy. Here is the link to the official announcement (Board Vacancy Announcement).

The DCHD published the DCHD School Metrics Week 14 on Monday.  As of April 22, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 2.02%, Hinsdale is 6.12%, Downers Grove is 3.40%, and Clarendon Hills is 5.65%. The average positivity rate for our community is 4.30%.

The number of new cases of COVID-19 is over 200 per 100,000. The seven-day average positivity rate for the county is up.  Our local community’s positivity rate is trending lower. The number of new cases for people under the age of twenty is rising.

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.

April 26
CUSD 201 will return to a full-day schedule for families who have opted for in-person learning. Students who attend in-person will be required to self-certify before arriving at school, wear masks, and maintain social distance. The schools will provide additional information about the school day and transportation.

All students will have the option to order a free lunch at school when the District resumes full days. Menus will be posted on the website. Elementary students will make selections in their homeroom each day. The High School and Junior High will be sending information to families on how to order lunches.

The District will still provide a remote learning experience for families who want their child to remain remote.

Absences during Full Day
For grades 2-12, the option of Zooming is limited to students continuing with full remote or are quarantined due to symptoms.
