May 21, 2021

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

Congratulations to our junior high and high school graduates. This year the District will be able to have in-person graduations on the high school football field. The junior high graduation is on May 24, and the high school graduation is on May 26. Graduates are allowed to have four guests. The ceremonies will be recorded, and recordings will be made available to the graduates’ families.

Next week is the last week of school. It is incredible how quickly the school year has come to an end. There were many challenges this year, but as a school community, we navigated the year successfully. Thank you to the foodservice workers, custodians and maintenance workers, administrative assistants, teaching assistants, teachers, and administrators. It was everyone’s collective efforts that allowed the District to continue to meet the needs of our students throughout the year.

Thank you to our families and students for your patience and flexibility. I know this has been a challenging time for our families. Thank you for your continued support of CUSD 201.

CUSD 201 is anticipating returning to full in-person learning for the 2021-22 school year. The District does not know what mitigations will be in place next August. School districts may still be required to have students wear masks and socially distanced. Due to the unknown factors and the need to plan for teh upcoming school year, Miller will house grades K and 1, and manning will house grades 2-5.  If you need additional information, please watch the March 16 Board Meeting.

Unless there is a certified medical reason, all students will be in person. The school district will provide additional information to parents who believe their child will be eligible for remote learning.

DuPage County school districts are working together to provide the COVID-19 vaccines to students age 12 and older. You can still register your child to receive the vaccine on May 26. The district cannot mandate that students get the vaccine, but families are encouraged to have their children vaccinated.  For additional information, please use this link (Student Vaccine Event).

Please read the entire communication for additional updates.
