March 4, 2022

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

As of February 28, CUSD 201 transitioned to masks “strongly recommended” in our schools. The transition has been smooth. The district has not seen an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The CDC has made masks optional on public transportation. The week of March 7, masks will be recommended on buses and driver education cars, but not required.

Westmont High School is hosting the first annual Westmont Stem Night on March 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Westmont High School. Please see the flier for details.

If your child is fully vaccinated, please upload an image of the vaccination card in Skyward. Once you log into Skyward, there is a link you will use to upload the card. The information will be kept confidential.

CUSD 201 is asking parents to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey results provide valuable information to our school and are included in the school report card. We also use the data to guide some of our decision-making. The survey closes on March 11, 2022. Illinois 5Essentials Survey

The positivity rate in DuPage County continues to decrease. As of March 4, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 1.56%, Hinsdale is 1.38%, Downers Grove is 3.00%, and Clarendon Hills is 4.44%.  The average positivity rate for our community is 2.60%.

Please read the entire communication for additional information.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing:
CUSD 201 is offering optional weekly COVID-19 testing through Northshore Labs. There is no cost for the test. If you want your child to participate, use this link CUSD 201 COVID Testing. Testing takes place every Monday.

National School Lunch Program:
The National School Lunch Program is still operating under an emergency order.  All students are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch regardless of income level.

Vaccine:
If you are not vaccinated already, please consider receiving the vaccine.  You can find information regarding the Covid-19 Vaccine on the DCHD website.

Thank you for your continued support of our school district.

Take care,

Kevin Carey
