March 11, 2022

Dear CUSD 201 Families,

The District has transitioned to masks being recommended in our schools. Since making the change, the District has had two positive COVID-19 cases.

As a reminder, students who have COVID-19 related symptoms should stay home until a negative test is received or for five days if not testing. As was the case before the pandemic, students must be free of fever, diarrhea, and vomiting, without the use of medication, for 24 hours before returning to school.

If your child is fully vaccinated, please upload an image of the vaccination card in Skyward. Once you log into Skyward, there is a link you will use to upload the card. The information will be kept confidential.

DuPage County is at a low level of transmission. As of March 11, the seven-day positivity rate for Westmont is 1.91%, Hinsdale is 1.60%, Downers Grove is 2.73%, and Clarendon Hills is .76%. The average positivity rate for our community is 1.75%.

CUSD 201 is asking parents to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey results provide valuable information to our school and are included in the school report card. We also use the data to guide some of our decision-making. The survey closes today,  March 11, 2022. Illinois 5Essentials Survey

Please read the entire communication for additional information.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing:
CUSD 201 is offering optional weekly COVID-19 testing through Northshore Labs. There is no cost for the test. If you want your child to participate, use this link CUSD 201 COVID Testing. Testing takes place every Monday.

National School Lunch Program:
The National School Lunch Program is still operating under an emergency order.  All students are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch regardless of income level.

Vaccine:
If you are not vaccinated already, please consider receiving the vaccine.  You can find information regarding the Covid-19 Vaccine on the DCHD website.

Thank you for your continued support of our school district.

Take care,
Kevin Carey
Superintendent
