General

You must have a parking permit in order to park in the parking lot.  Please see Mrs. Grahn in the front office immediately

"Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Any student interested in participating and or sharing ideas please come see  Ms Lopez.

Westmont High School will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT exam on Wednesday, October 12th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The PSAT/NMSQT can qualify any participating junior student for scholarships, including the National Merit Scholar Program. Interested sophomores may choose to take this exam as a practice. In general, students who score in the top 1% in the nation on the PSAT/NMSQT are deemed Semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Sophomore and juniors will still be provided several Practice SAT opportunities throughout the year; this exam is just for those juniors who wish to compete for the National Merit Scholarship.
All interested students should sign up with Ms. Grahn in the main office with a $20 fee before Friday, October 7th. Cash or check made out to Westmont High School will be accepted, spots are limited.

This year, prom tickets will be $100. If you missed the first Prom Committee Meeting, please talk with either Mrs. Zorbas or Señorita to learn how to pay less for your prom ticket!  

Clubs -

Calling all Spanish and French Club members.   Come meet this Thursday in Señorita´s room, room 125 for our meeting this Thursday morning, the 22nd at 7:30 am.   New members are always welcome.  See you there! 

Athletics –

Boys soccer finished off a tough week, playing 4 matches in 6 days. The boys lost both matches this weekend despite scoring 6 goals. Abe Johnson leading the way with 4 of those goals. Although the tournament run is over, we still have 2 home games this week. Today vs Yorkville Christian at 4:30 and tomorrow night in a conference matchup vs Aurora Central at 6:30 under the lights. See you there!

Congratulations to the Cross Country team who took 9th place in a field of 38 schools at the Bureau Valley Dale Donner Invitational.  Tim Rosland led the team finishing 8th place.  The team runs at home on Tuesday. 

Congratulations to Coach Montre who finished in 11th place in the North Shore Triathlon yesterday.  Proud of you Coach.

There are only 120 days until track and field begins. Will you be ready?
