Counseling

Mission Statement

The Westmont High School Counseling Department will deliver a counseling program that is comprehensive, developmental, and accessible to all students, and which equips them for the future by attending to their academic, personal, social, and career development. The counseling staff will advocate for students, engage in professional development, and partner with students, parents, staff, and community to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

ASCA Recognition   ASCA Model Program

The Westmont High School Counseling Program has met the criteria to become a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) by the American School Counselor Association!

The RAMP designation is awarded to schools that align with the criteria set by the ASCA national model. A RAMP designated school counseling program must demonstrate a comprehensive, data-driven program that meets the needs of all students, and the designation is held for five years. Nearly 1,000 schools have been designated as RAMP recipients since the program's inception. As of 2020, 486 schools in the nation hold this honor. That total includes the 31 schools in Illinois. Please visit the following website for more information about which schools are RAMP certified.

Westmont High School earned the RAMP designation in 2015 and achieved it again in 2020. We are very proud of our developmental counseling program and are grateful to all of our stakeholders for their support!
