On January 12th, 13th, and 14th, all current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will receive information about the 2022-2023 course selection process in their scheduled English classes. After the presentation, students will be able to enter their course requests online through Skyward from Wednesday, January 12th at 8 AM until Monday, January 18th at 8 AM.
To prepare for the presentation, students are encouraged to review graduation requirements and classes offered at WHS listed in the 2022-2023 Course Selection Book posted above. Hard copies will also be distributed to students during the upcoming Course Selection Presentations.
To make course requests for the 2022-2023 school year, students need to log into Skyward and click on the “Course Requests” tab. In this section, students will be able to select as many as 14 semester classes for the following school year. All WHS courses that do not require special approval will be available for students to view and select as course requests through Skyward. Parents also have the option to view and update this information through Skyward Family Access.
Beginning on Tuesday, January 19th, all students will have an individual appointment to review their course requests. A schedule of appointments will be posted on Google Classroom for students to view. During these appointments, counselors will ensure that students are on track to meet WHS graduation requirements as well as college entrance requirements. If applicable, special approval courses (such as special education, TCD, or IVS classes) will also be addressed at that time.
As always, students are encouraged to take this course selection process very seriously. A summary of individual students' course selections will be mailed home in the month of March for parental review.
