General –

Underclass picture retake pictures will be on Tuesday, October 25th in the auditorium from 10:45 – 1:15 pm.

COD is hosting a Business Professions Spotlight for students and families on Thursday, October 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000.  Explore education and careers in Accounting, Business, Management, Marketing, Office Technology and Paralegal Studies.  You may pre-register using the QR code in the commons and by Mrs. Dervin's classroom, or you may also walk-in.  Raffle prizes are available to those who pre-register.  See Mrs. Dervin if you have any questions.

We have a few extra 2021-2022 yearbooks available to purchase. Books are $50 and can be purchased from Mrs. Mahmoud or in the front office.

Sentinels, there is still time to get in on the Pasta Drive to help those in need.   Jewel as pasta for just 77 cents per box when you buy seven.  And, you can get Macaroni & Cheese for less than that at Aldi.  So, stock up and donate by tomorrow.  The lunch table that donates the most pasta by 4:00 pm tomorrow will win a pizza lunch for their table.  Questions?   Please see Señorita.   

Clubs –

Attention any student who is interested in traveling with Geography Club next summer: There will be a second virtual informational meeting for students and parents/guardians on Wednesday, October 19, at 7:00 pm. Check Google Classroom for more information. See Mr. Landreth with any questions.

We are still looking for a few stage crew members for the fall play. If you are interested, please see or email Mrs. Mahmoud.

Athletics –

Come out on October 19 to support your High School staff as they take on the Junior High staff, Fire Department and Police Department in a volleyball game for Special Olympics

Boys soccer ended their season with a tough loss in the regional championship. The boys put up arguably their best half of the season but the #1 seeded Chicago Hope pulled through in the 2nd half. Abe Johnson ends the season in the top 10 for scoring in the state with 36 goals as well as Valdet Dalipi finishing top 10 in the state with 21 assists. The soccer team had a historic season and are looking forward to coming back even stronger next year!

The varsity volleyball team played in a 12 team tournament on Saturday, coming away with a 3-2 record.  After losing the first two matches of the day, the Sentinels bounced back to defeat Hinckley Big Rock, LaMoille and Lisle.  Congratulations to the team on winning 15 matches so far this season!  Rylee Szyzka was also honored as an All Tournament selection!  Congratulations to Rylee and the team on finishing on a strong note!!

There are only 92 days until Track and Field. Will you be ready?

The Cross Country teams competed in the Metro Suburban Conference meet on Saturday.  Tim Rosland defended his conference champion title to finish 30 seconds ahead of 2nd place.  Henry O'Connor finished in 4th place earning All Conference Honors as well.  The team earned an impressive 60 points in a very tight field and came out Champions!  Congratulations men!!  A special shout out to Owen Berbaum who won the Open Race for the Red Division!!   The team competes in Regionals on Saturday at Lisle. Race time is 11:00
