General

Last day for Homecoming tickets sales today during lunch.  Tickets are $25.00 and $30.00 at the door.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, please join us for our VIRTUAL College and Financial Aid Night from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This event will be held virtually and is especially important for seniors. The FAFSA opens in December for eligible seniors, and it is important to get the application submitted as soon as possible for maximum financial consideration.

Westmont High School will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT exam on Wednesday, October 11th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The PSAT/NMSQT can qualify participating junior students for the National Merit Scholar Program. All interested students should sign up with Ms. Grahn in the main office with a $20 fee by Friday, September 22nd. Cash or check made out to Westmont High School will be accepted, spots are limited.

NACAC will be hosting a college fair at McCormick Place on September 30th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity for students of any age to connect face-to-face with college representatives from hundreds of colleges and universities. You can register for this event online or see your counselor for more information.

Sentinels:  Would you like to hone your leadership skills?  The IHSA will be hosting a Student Leadership Conference on November 13.   Westmont can send up to 8 students to attend this wonderful opportunity.

If you are interested, let Kappy know before October 15. 

Clubs

Westmont has a new club for any students of Latin heritage and anyone who wishes to know more about Latin culture.  It's called La Casa and our meetings will be on Mondays after school in Mr. Landreth.  Please see Mr. Landreth for more information.

Athletics  Last night the cross country teams hosted three schools for their second home meet of the season. Emma Franklin took 2nd place in the girls race! Paul Lalonde also took 2nd place in the boys race as the boys team had a great team battle with Harvest Christian but came up just short. Both teams will compete at the Harvest Christian Invitational on Saturday

Congratulations to the boys for their second place finish yesterday at the Metro Conference golf tournament.  The weather was not great but the boys played very well.
