Sentinels:  Would you like to hone your leadership skills?  The IHSA will be hosting a Student Leadership Conference on November 13.   Westmont can send up to 8 students to attend this wonderful opportunity. If you are interested, let Kappy know before October 15. 

There are only 15 more copies of the 2023 yearbook left to purchase! Please see Mrs. Mahmoud ASAP to secure your book today. Books are $50 cash or check to CUSD 201.

If you are interested in joining the World Language Department on our Saturday, October 7th field trip to the Mexican Fine Arts museum we will learn about Hispanic Heritage Month and the Day of the Dead, then head to el restaurante Nuevo Leon for lunch and you will also have some time to spend in the local shops.  Here are the details: The $28 cost includes round trip transportation by bus to/from WHS, entrance to the museum as well as lunch and tip. We will meet at WHS at 9:45 am, depart promptly at 10:00 and return to WHS around 3:15 pm.  All forms and payment must be turned in to Sra. Gomez by Wednesday, October 4th.  If you are interested in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the Day of the Dead, then join the World Language Department on a Field Trip to the Mexican Fine Arts Museum and to Nuevo Leon for Lunch on Saturday, Oct. 7th, Please see Ms. Gomez or Ms. Lott for a permission slip. Permission slips and $28 are due by Wednesday.

Clubs - Westmont has a new club for any students of Latin heritage and anyone who wishes to know more about Latin culture.  It's called La Casa and our meetings will be on Mondays after school in Mr. Landreth.  Please see Mr. Landreth for more information.

The next Geography Club field trip will be on Sunday, October 15 to attend the Open House Chicago event. This annual event allows us to explore dozens of sites throughout downtown Chicago that are not normally open to the public. Permission slips are available in Mr. Landreth's room and are due by Thursday, October 12. See Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne with any questions.

Then from Weds. 10/4 through Thursday 10/12:

Art Club will meet in the art room today after school from 3-4:00

Join us for the beginning of Inktober!  Inktober is a drawing challenge where you create an ink drawing every day throughout October! Today we will decorate the cover of an inktober sketchbook and complete the first two drawings for the Month of October.

Athletics - Sentinels:  The Volleyball team is sponsoring their annual Volley for a Cure on October 5.   There will be raffles, a bake sale, t-shirt sales and more.  All proceeds will be donated to the Open Arms in Hinsdale.   Want to make a donation - scan the QR code on the team's posters.

There are only 106 days left until Track and Field begins! Will you be ready?

Attention all winter sports athletes: Before you can begin your season, you must have an Okay to Play card - you must have a current physical on file, and 8to18 registration must be completed. See Kappy or Coach Dunne for your Okay to Play card.

 

The IHSA is celebrating National High School Activities month throughout October.  Sentinels:  This week the IHSA is asking that you post video shoutouts for your favorite officials, coaches and advisors. Please make sure you include the #HSActivitiesMonth when posting and tag the IHSA @IHSA_IL.
