General

Sentinels, how does celebrating the start of winter break by visiting the Christkindl Market at Daley Plaza and shopping along State Street sound? The next Geography Club trip will be on Friday, December 22nd, for our annual visit to Chicago's Christkindl Market and a chance to get some last-minute holiday shopping done downtown. Join your friends as we kick off winter break and celebrate the holidays on this trip! Permission slips are available in Mr. Landreth's room. All permission slips must be turned in by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15 to guarantee a spot on this field trip. See Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne with any questions.

Any Sentinel student who is interested in traveling to Japan over Spring Break 2025 with the Geography Club should talk to Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne for more information. Interested travelers can also check the Geography Club Google Classroom for additional information.

Clubs

On Tuesday night, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team traveled to St. Eds looking to keep the team's winning streak alive. In the first match, the Sentinels jumped out to an early lead thanks to Riyah Varghese's tossups and never looked back. Captain Luke Kaestner and Junior Zoe Abington paced the team to a 225-110 lead at the half, and Freshman Mateo Cabral dominated the second half, answering 6 out of 12 tossups, leading the team to a 445-290 win. In the second match, the Sentinels had a commanding lead 300-80 point lead at the half, led by Luke, Zoe, and Mateo. In the second half, Riyah and Faisal Abulaila helped coast to a 400-260 win. The Sentinels are now 6-2 and are on a 6-game winning streak.

Athletics

Last night, the Sentinel Girls Varsity basketball team took on Hinckley Big Rock and played together with a heart for the entire game and brought home a well-earned 58-39 victory! Four Sentinels - Danielle Hoover Eva Papish, Payeton Pickens, and Dasha Savchuk scored double digits. Way to go team!
