"Attention all students: Wednesday February 21st is a Universal Testing day for all Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors. Please get a good night's sleep, be on time, bring 2 sharpened pencils and a calculator. If you don’t have a calculator make arrangements to get one. Your testing rooms will be posted Tuesday. Students please take this test seriously and try your best!
Juniors bring your Chromebook fully charged! Remember your College Board password!
Clubs
The next Geography Club field trip, in conjunction with La Casa, will be on Saturday, February 24th as we make a trip to join the Carneval Celebration taking place at Chicago's world-famous Navy Pier. There will be several bands and dance troupes performing and sharing their Carneval traditions. Permission slips are available in Mr. Landreth's room and must be turned in by next Thursday, February 22.
Over the weekend, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Timothy Christian to compete in the 40th Annual Masonic Tournament, and the Sentinels were right there with the best of them. The team finished the first half of the day with perfect 3-0 record, and jumped to an early lead versus TC, but ultimately fell. Additionally, the Sentinels pounced on the first six tossups of the match against Latin, but were unable to seal the victory.
Freshman Charlie Johnson played in his first Varsity tournament, and everyone contributed to the team's 4th place finish. Freshman Mateo led the team in tossups, followed by Luke, Justas, Cooper, Zoe, and Riyah. The Sentinels are now 16-9, are ranked 3rd in the Sectional, and look to win their regional tournament on March 4th.
Athletics
Coach Wenkman will be supervising the weight room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 for the remainder of the school year. All athletes, out of season, are welcome to join."
Good luck to the Girls Basketball team in their Sectional Semifinal game against Phillips tonight at 7:30 pm! The game will be played at Julian High School. Come out and support the Sentinels tonight!
