Last night, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Elgin Academy for the team's regional championship tournament as the top seed, and the Sentinels showed why. After a first-round bye, the Sentinels jumped on Chicago Christian and led the whole match, ultimately winning 430-230, with six different players getting tossups, including Jay Stell, who got his first Varsity tossup.

In the championship game, the Sentinels fell into an early hole, down as much as 90 points in the first half but closed the gap to 20 at halftime. The Sentinels stormed out of the gate and took a lead before the match turned into a back-and-forth affair, with Westmont eventually winning 440-350. Zoe Abington had her best night of the season, and Luke Kaestner and Mateo Cabral helped lead the team to victory. Sectionals are this weekend in Elgin.
