General

Don't forget to purchase your 2024 yearbook ASAP. Limited quantities are available for $53 cash or check to WHS. See Mrs. Mahmoud or the front office to order. Don't miss out on your chance to secure your book!

Juniors - ACT prep class will meet today in Mrs. Pergande's room at 3 PM.  Come by if you want to see if this test is an option for you.  There are ACT tests in June and July. If you have any questions, email Mrs. Ritchey.

NHS is collecting items for the West Suburban Humane Society. Bring in items such as paper towels, pet toys, leashes, & pet food. Look for the red flyers for more details. NHS members can earn Service Hours for their donations.

Attention Juniors and Seniors, Prom is on May 11th at Pinstripes in Oakbrook. Tickets will go on sale ONLINE on April 1st. You will be able to purchase your ticket the entire month of April. As a reminder, please pick up guest forms from the front office if you plan on bringing an out-of-district guest! See Mrs. Ramirez or Mrs. Zorbas if you have any questions! 

Alright, Sentinels!  For the last week of the April Attendance Month weekly raffle, we have some new, exciting prizes.  Back by popular demand, we have the Door Dash Permission Certificates.  We have added a supervised trip to The Deli At 700.  And, the final prize is a JBL Link View Smart Display with the Google Assistant!!  It is a great Mother's Day gift, Father's Day gift, Teacher Appreciation Week gift, favorite administrator gift, and/or you can keep it for yourself.  The estimated value is priceless.  The more you are here, the more chances to win.  You have to be present to win!!

Clubs

Hey Sentinels: How would you like to spend Spring Break 2025 traveling in JAPAN with Geography Club? That's right - just over a year from now, you could be visiting Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka and more in this fascinating country! There is still plenty of time to sign up -- see Mr. Landreth or Mr. Dunne for more details on this trip and information on how to sign up!

Over the weekend, the Westmont Scholastic Bowl team competed in the NAQT Small School National Championship in Rosemont, and the Sentinels started out hot by winning their first three matches, and ended up 8-2 on the first day. The team's only losses were to the teams that have won the past two national championships.

The Sentinels qualified for the playoffs on Sunday, and were able to finish 13th in the country! Special shout outs to freshman Mateo Cabral, who was the 7th highest scoring player in the tournament, and highest ranked underclassman. Also, senior captain Luke Kaestner for helping lead the Sentinels to two top 20 place finishes in the past two years.

Significant contributions were also had by juniors Zoe Abington, Justas Bobrevicius, Cooper Rathburn, Riyah Varghese, and by freshman Keshav Viswanath.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Track and Field teams on a great meet on Friday night at the Chicago Christian Invitational against tough competition, including 2A and 3A teams.

Scoring points for the Sentinels were:

·  6th place - Paul Lalonde in the 1600 run

·  5th place - Annikah Engstrom in the 400 dash and the 4x800 relay of Michael Aho, Christian Rosa, Kaleb Sica and Quentin Jarlson

·  4th place - Paul Lalonde in the 3200 run; Taj Lewis in the shot put, and the 4x400 relay of Michael Aho, Jude Paul, Kaleb Sica and Joe Kone

·  3rd place - Malachi Boatright in the high jump

·  2nd place - Kyla Babb in the 3200 run and Abe Johnson in the long jump

·  Meet champions for the Sentinels were Kyla Babb in the 1600 run and Abe Johnson in the high jump and triple jump

Westmont Varsity Baseball Won both games of the Doubleheader over Yorkville Christian on Saturday. Westmont improves to 14-7-1 on the season. Jerry Vasek and Ricky Yenkin both got the Wins on the mound. Rocco Damato was 7-8 on the day. Briggs Templeton was 6-7 on the day.
